Absolutely. While they don't vent air outside, ventless hood fan utilize a dual-stage filtration system. The stainless steel baffle filters trap heavy grease, while high-density activated charcoal filters chemically neutralize smoke and odors, returning 98% clean air back to your kitchen.
Do I need to hire a professional installer?
Not usually. One of the biggest advantages is the "Plug-and-Play" installation. Since there is no ductwork to cut or walls to demolish, most users can mount the hood using the included template and screws in under 30 minutes. It simply plugs into a standard outlet.
How often do I need to replace the charcoal filters?
For optimal air quality, we recommend replacing the activated carbon filter every 3 to 6 months, depending on your cooking frequency. The stainless steel baffle filters are permanent and dishwasher-safe – simply wash them when they appear greasy.
Can this hood handle high-heat frying or wok cooking?
Yes. Brano ductless hood fan are equipped with powerful motors that generate 900 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) suction. While ductless systems recirculate air, our high-velocity suction ensures that the smoke plume is captured instantly before it spreads through your home.
Where does the air go if there is no vent?
The air is pulled through the filters where grease and odors are removed. The purified air is then recirculated back into the kitchen through vents located at the top of the chimney or the unit itself. It creates a continuous cycle of air purification.
Does a ductless hood remove heat and humidity?
This is the main difference from ducted systems. Recirculating hoods clean contaminants but do not remove heat or humidity. We recommend keeping a window slightly cracked during boiling or long simmers to help manage moisture levels.
Is it suitable for apartments and condos?
It is the perfect solution for apartments, condos, and rentals. Since it requires no structural changes or external venting holes, it complies with almost all HOA rules and building codes for high-rise living.
Are ductless hoods noisier than ducted ones?

Can I convert this hood to a ducted system later?
Yes! All Brano models are Convertible. You can use it in ductless mode now, and if you move to a house with existing ductwork later, you simply remove the charcoal filters and connect the duct pipe.
Will the hood work with high ceilings?
Yes. We offer adjustable chimney extensions that can accommodate ceilings up to 10 feet. For ductless installation, the chimney acts as a decorative cover for the motor and recirculation vents, offering a seamless look.
